Interesting indeed. Thank you for the information on Godaddy.
I use some of the Google Apps. Funny thing about me is I'm always experimenting with new tools, widgets and so forth. I like to know what's out and what's coming out.
I could be wrong, but I thought Google works with other domain registrars besides Godaddy.
Yes, I've heard of the practice, but not GoDaddy in particular.
Years ago it seemed to me that a registrar would do this since they'd have direct access for what people were looking for. Since, I had that thought I made it a point only to search for a domain name upon being ready to register it right then and there. Additionally, I just type in the domain name into my browser if nothing shows then I go and register it. This is how I found that your name wasn't registered.
By the way I think it's a good title, it's easy to remember and I would look up the dot com if I were a fan/reader of yours or heard the title mentioned. Unfortunately, I missed the boat more than a few times on registering a great name. If you can get your book title and domain name to all match up under a dot com that is sweeeeet.
Thank you for the swift reply Jim. Good to know you're good with registering your domain name. I've seen a number of people throughout the Internet actually promoting a dot com without having registered the dot com.
What was/is your inspiration for writing your book?
Welcome and good to meet you. The forums have some good discussions, I look forward to reading your post there. Self publishing your own book gives tips on marketing, promoting and publishing books.
Jim what is your time line for completing Fix This War? Additionally, you'll want to register a unique domain (url) name for your book. I missed the boat a few times and I still get sick thinking about it. Registering a unique domain name for your book titles takes all but 15 minutes and may only cost about $7.95 or so a year. 1and1 is one of many companies where you can register your own domain name immediately.
